🐾 Breeding Practices FAQ – Lillian’s Adorable Little Chihuahuas 🐾

1. What is your breeding philosophy?

We breed for health, temperament, and breed standard. Our goal is to raise well-socialized, loving Chihuahuas that make exceptional companions.

2. How often do you breed your dogs?

Our females are bred responsibly and sparingly, no more than once per year. Their health and well-being come first, and they are retired early to enjoy life as pampered pets.

3. Do you perform genetic testing?

Yes. All our breeding dogs are genetically health tested for common conditions affecting Chihuahuas, including luxating patellas, heart issues, and eye disorders.

4. Are your breeding dogs AKC registered?

Yes, all of our sires and dams are AKC registered and meet or exceed breed standards. Pedigrees are available upon request.

5. Do you sell breeding rights?

We primarily sell our puppies with limited registration (pet homes only). Full breeding rights may be granted on a case-by-case basis to approved homes with breeding experience.

6. Where are the puppies raised?

Puppies are raised in our loving home environment, not in kennels. They are socialized with adults, children, and other pets to promote confident, affectionate personalities.

7. How do you choose breeding pairs?

We select pairs based on health, temperament, structure, and lineage. Our matches are carefully planned to improve the breed and reduce the risk of inherited conditions.

8. Do you breed teacup Chihuahuas?

We do not breed for extremely small or “teacup” Chihuahuas, as this can lead to serious health issues. Our Chihuahuas typically fall within the healthy AKC standard weight range (3–6 lbs).
